Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation Scholarship
The Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation was founded January 1, 1989, in Calumet City with the aims of encouraging academic excellence and assisting minority students in their pursuit of higher education. Since its incorporation on April 2, 1990, the Foundation has awarded over $275,000.00 in scholarships to youths in the south suburbs of Chicago. We are accepting applications for our scholarships from students who attend a high school located within our service area in the south suburbs of Chicago. All applications and supporting documents are due by March 31, 2023.
Requirements
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduating senior from a high school within our service area of the south suburbs of Chicago or a previous Foundation scholarship awardee currently enrolled at a college/university.
- Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (2.5 GPA for participants in the Leaders For Tomorrow mentoring program) verified on an official transcript, that must be submitted.
- Attend an accredited 2 or 4-year degree-granting institution (funds will be distributed during the Fall Semester directly to the educational institution).
- Submit two letters of recommendation, with at least one being from a school official (teacher, counselor, or principal).
How To Apply
New scholarship applicants – Complete the application, download it, and e-mail the completed application to scholarships@tmlcf.com by March 31st, 2023. Please save a copy for your records.
Scholarship Renewal Applicant – Complete and submit the online application. Have official transcripts sent via U.S. mail or transcript clearinghouse to the Theta Mu Lambda’s Charitable Foundation’s P.O. Box
All letters of recommendation should be e-mailed to scholarships@tmlcf.com and include the student’s name and high school in the subject line of the e-mail.
Official transcripts should be postmarked before March 31st, 2023. The official transcripts will be sent DIRECTLY from the student’s high school via U.S. mail or transcript clearinghouse if in college to the foundation’s P.O. Box. Any transcripts from a student’s e-mail address will immediately disqualify the student from the scholarship selection process.

If selected, your scholarship award check will be mailed directly to the educational institution during the Fall Semester, so the address and contact information you provide for your school’s Business/ Financial Aid Office must be correct.
The contact information for the educational institution you will attend MUST be e-mailed to scholarships@tmlcf.com by July 25th, 2023, or you will forfeit your scholarship offer.
